The Edwardian Period began when Edward succeeded his mother, Queen
Victoria, as King of England. This period lasted from 1901 to 1910. Edward was
a leader amongst the fashionable, with a fondness for art and fashions from
Continental Europe. Art in this era was greatly influenced by the development
of cars and electricity as well as Art Nouveau.
